Tips for a great print
- Print flat on the bed with a layer height of 0.2 mm. No supports needed.
- Two colours: add a colour change at the height of the plate. With an AMS or another multicolour unit, use the 2 files for 2 colours button and load them together as one object.
- Keep letters at least about 4 mm tall; otherwise they get too fine for a 0.4 mm nozzle.
- A 2 mm plate with 1.2 mm relief is sturdy enough for a bunch of keys.
Halloween and Christmas ideas
- Print ghosts and pumpkins in glow-in-the-dark filament: they light up after trick-or-treating.
- Make a bauble or star with each family member’s name as a gift or as a tag for the Christmas tree. Put the ring hole at the top.
- A candy cane or snowflake in white with red or light blue relief makes a nice little gift for the class.

Is the keychain maker really free?
Yes. You do not need an account and there is no watermark on the file. You are also allowed to sell the keychains.
Is my drawing or photo sent anywhere?
No. Everything is calculated in your own browser. Your image never leaves your computer or phone.
What kind of drawing works best?
A drawing with thick, dark lines on white paper. Thin lines of less than 1 mm on the keychain are hard to print. With a photo of paper, the Light/dark threshold slider helps remove shadows.
How do I print two colours without an AMS?
In your slicer, add a pause or colour change at the height of the plate, 2 mm by default. The printer stops there, you swap the filament and the relief comes out in the second colour.
What does it cost to print a keychain?
Usually 3 to 8 grams of filament. With filament at 20 euros per kilo, that is 6 to 16 cents. Including electricity and wear, it stays under 25 cents.
Which ring do I need?
The hole is 4.4 mm. A standard split ring or a ball chain keyring fits through it.
